The most Refreshing Homemade Popsicles
Cooling Down in the Summer
As the summer heat ramps up and the kid’s sweet tooth continues to peak during their summer vacation, we have a recipe you can count on to indulge those sugar cravings. In less than five minutes of prep time these refreshing homemade summer popsicles will be your go-to treat. This anytime snack is great for a day at the pool or a barbeque in the backyard as the blazing sun beats down on the Denver area. It’s also a satisfying dessert option that the kids will love after a filling meal at home. All you need to make your homemade popsicle is your own selection of fresh fruit, a yogurt or fruit juice (sugar-free if you’re on the poolside diet), and honey to create your own icy, fruity, creamy summertime treat.
Steps to make Popsicles
- Use a blender to combine your fresh fruit and yogurt or fruit juice (if you want a richer and creamier popsicle use yogurt) for about sixty seconds until it transforms into a smooth colorful blend.
- Add honey to sweeten the mixture and blend for another thirty to forty seconds. We recommend 2 tablespoons, but more can be added if you enjoy a sweeter dessert.
- Evenly pour your mixture into a popsicle mold and freeze overnight for the best results (you can find a popsicle mold for under twenty dollars at most local convenience stores).
