What’s the first place that comes to mind when you’re looking to celebrate a special occasion?
We’ve gotten a kick out of exploring famous tiki restaurants throughout the country. Denver’s Adrift absolutely holds its own and I absolutely love exploring their menu of low-key food and fire-breathing drinks.
Tell us about a vacation you would love to take.
I’d love to see Japan. Travel light, take a camera, and walk around cities so unlike our own.
Tell us about your favorite book from the past year. Why should others pick it up?
I just finished Brad De Long’s economic history, “Slouching Toward Utopia.” It’s so important to remain grounded in the recent past, understand how differently our world experienced wealth and why our systems work so efficiently to produce it for so many more people today.

As a member of EdgeRock’s leadership team, Ryan is motivated by Tyler Cowen’s principal of investing in the ambitions of others. He also draws inspiration from heterodox sports thinkers like Bill Walsh and Paul DePodesta—leaders who adapted structure and talent with use data and creativity to produce unique efficiency gains. Each day, his goal is to help the EdgeRock team aspire to do more than they thought possible, both individually and collectively.
Outside of work, Ryan channels his curiosity into creative pursuits: writing, photography, and making music with friends. His idea of bliss is riding a bike through the city, sitting in the park, and soaking up the energy of the local arts community—fuel that keeps him learning, exploring, and building on behalf of EdgeRock’s clients.
Ryan came to Colorado as a child from northern California and grew up surrounded by the beauty and ambition of the Great American West. Today, he calls Denver home and loves experiencing the city’s constant evolution—often from the seat of a bike, discovering what’s new and what’s next.
